Being out of my chair five times a week for my health and wellbeing gives me so many wonderful opportunities to explore, relax, and have fun. During my community outings, I visited The Warehouse to look at sensory items, explored Bayfair shopping mall, and attended a People First meeting to discuss Matariki and what it means to each individual. My sensory time was full of comforting moments, like leaning back in my chair for a warm foot spa, getting a gentle hand massage on the bed while listening to beach sounds and feeling seashells, using headphones to watch fruit sensory videos, and helping paint our sensory room wall hand-over-hand. I also loved staying active and celebrating with others by dancing in my chair at iDance and concert practice, enjoying yummy banana cake at our Matariki shared lunch, and spending all day at work in my PJs for a pajama party complete with games and the movie Mr. Ed.
