Welcome to my June update! On my community outings, I visited the Papamoa Library on the day they were celebrating 20 years, to explore the sensory room, view the art gallery, and listen to a Hairy Maclary story read in Te Reo Māori. I also helped with the studio shopping at Te Puke New World, joined a community walk through Bayfair, and went to Maketu Beach this morning to watch the sea and the birds. In Tauranga, I visited the beautiful Fairy Garden to see the fairies, blow bubbles, explore sensory props, and paint a fairy door. For my sensory sessions, I enjoyed a foot spa, a head massage, a hand massage with soft music, and a water-pouring activity. While resting in bed, I listened to relaxing music through my headphones, and I also stayed busy by helping make a textured sensory board and using hand-over-hand painting to a big box that would look like a speaker for our annual concert coming up.
